About Cenpos

We built the payment engine we couldn't find on the shelf.

Cenpos started as a way to stop reconciling three systems just to answer one question: did this transaction get paid? Seventeen years later, that's still the job.

How it started

A Miami payments company with a merchant's problem to solve.

Cenpos was founded in Miami in 2009 by Jorge Fernandez and German Gonzalez, after years of watching enterprise merchants run their in-store, online and phone payments through disconnected systems that never quite agreed with each other at month end.

The idea was straightforward: one payment engine, sitting between the merchant and the bank, that every channel could plug into. Terminals, checkout pages, recurring billing and virtual terminals all posting to the same ledger, with the same security standards applied everywhere.

"A merchant shouldn't need four vendors and a spreadsheet just to know whether yesterday's batch settled."

That principle shaped everything that followed: cloud-based terminal management instead of truck rolls, tokenization instead of stored card numbers, and reporting that matches to the general ledger automatically instead of by hand.

Today, Cenpos runs inside automotive dealer groups, retail chains, travel and entertainment venues, and academic institutions, largely without customers noticing it's there. That's by design.

What we hold onto

The habits that haven't changed since 2009.

Merchant-first engineering

Every feature starts from a real reconciliation problem a merchant brought to us, not a spec written in isolation.

Security by default

Tokenization and encryption aren't add-ons. They're switched on before a terminal processes its first transaction.

Plain-spoken support

When a batch doesn't settle, you get a person who can explain why, not a ticket number.

Built to integrate

Cenpos is designed to sit alongside the POS, accounting and dealer systems you already run, not replace them.

Cenpos today

Still based in Miami. Still processing quietly.
